giveaway winners, etc…

April 13, 2012

Besides spending spring completely under the influence of apricot blossoms, I’m listening to Rose’s friend confess to her, matter-of-factly, “my mom threw away my nail polish because I painted it on the walls.” Which reminds me of how we found Rose’s name inked into our dining room table, as if she were leaving teenaged graffiti on some bathroom wall.

The best news about spring fruit-tree blossoms is that even after the apricots wither, there’s plums, crab-apples, cherries, peaches, apples and pears still to come!

I’ve selected 5 winners (via random number generator) of the magazine giveaway.

*Jennifer Beck Furber

*Christine D.

*An honest mom

Send your addresses to sanjuandrive(at)frontier(dot)net and I’ll send you your mags.

Have a lovely, flower-blossoming weekend,

Beautiful pic of blossoms. Our new home doesn’t have a single tree and I can’t wait to plant them. Exciting for the winners!

My step son (or one of his friends) once mindlessly carved a design into a table with a pencil while surfing the internet. It was a cheap table, but one I had purchased for $5 at a garage sale and then spent many hours stripping and refinishing, and then moving from house to house for 20 years. I often swear that when he buys his first real piece of furniture, I’m going to come over and carve my name in it, just because. Rose has age as an excuse. Teenagers only have hormones. Grin.

*love* the idea of coming to Rose’s house someday and leaving my signature on her table.

I NEVER win anything! How lucky am I?! Can’t wait to read something new and different…thanks.

Also, my dad made our dining room table long before I was born and If I look closely I can still see the name of a boy I liked in the seventh grade. As I sat doing homework, daydreaming about him, I causally wrote his name on some scratch paper. Not knowing much about wood working and soft woods, I neglected to realize that I had just written his name in eternity. The table now sits in a house I will inherit when my father slips into another world. I wonder where that dude is these days.:)

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. I don’t think I’ve ever seen apricot blossoms before.

Here we have lilacs and cherry blossoms now. I’m not going to get to the botanic garden until Wednesday (was last there a couple Sundays ago), and I’m terrified that I might be MISSING OUT on something.

    Enjoy your blossoms!

I hear you on the terror of missing out on something. It’s all so wonderfully new and exciting right now.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. I love hearing from you.
