    I’ve come to realize since becoming a parent that part of a dad’s job is doing things that make mom damn near have heart attack.

      So true! Col started chopping wood—with Dan standing behind him steadying the axe—at 3! And now at 6, he chops wood independently (while I close my eyes, breathe deeply and pray, nearby).
